About North Shore Women's Rugby
Chicago North Shore Women’s Rugby plays at the highest level available in the US for competitive senior women's 7s and XVs.
After claiming the Midwest Championships in Fall of 2025, North Shore played in the D1 Northern Super Regional marking a top 8 finish in the nation after rejoining D1.
Our 7s team is consistently the best in the nation and has finished in the top 4 at Club 7s Nationals for four consecutive years.

Charli Jacoby

Charli Jacoby is one of Chicago North Shore’s most accomplished alumnae, going from club rugby to the international stage with the USA Eagles. A powerful prop and former North Shore captain, Charli earned WPL All-Star and Dream Team honors before making her USA Eagles debut in 2019.
She went on to represent the United States at the 2022 and 2025 Rugby World Cups, earning 37 international caps, while also playing professionally in England for Loughborough Lightning and Exeter Chiefs and in Australia with the Queensland Reds.
Charli’s journey—from discovering rugby at age 20 to becoming a World Cup Eagle—is a testament to her determination, work ethic, and love for the game. We’re incredibly proud to call her a North Shore alumna.

Lauren Trout

Lauren Trout is a longtime Chicago North Shore player, coach, and leader who has helped shape the club’s success both on and off the field. After beginning her rugby career at Purdue University, Lauren joined North Shore in 2013 and went on to play more than 350 matches across 15s and 7s, representing select sides including Atlantis, USA Developmental 7s, and the USA 15s Player Pool.
Lauren began coaching in 2016 and was named USA Rugby’s Club Coach of the Year that year after helping lead North Shore to a national 15s championship final. Since taking over as North Shore’s 7s Head Coach in 2022, she has led the team to consecutive top-four finishes at the USA Club 7s National Championships.
Her coaching experience extends to the professional level as well. Lauren served as Head Coach of the PR7s Texas Team, coaching at the highest level of professional 7s competition in the United States. She has also coached the Illinois Collegiate All-Stars and continues to contribute to the development of the next generation of rugby players and coaches.
Lauren’s journey from a college rugby newcomer to an accomplished player, coach, and mentor is a reflection of the passion, leadership, and commitment she brings to Chicago North Shore.
