CNS players try out for USA Women's Rugby League Team

Following the club's commitment to developing a rugby league section and victory at the Tampa 9s, Florida in May 2021, several players will try out for the USA National Team at a camp in Yorkville, IL the home of the Chiefs RFC. Players Lauren Trout, Kadie Sanford, Nicole Fisch (third player of the tournament), Erin Nelsen(all CNS), and Sarah Anderson (Chicago Women, player of the tournament) were identified at the Tampa event by the national team head coach, Garen Casey as prospects for the test team to play Canada in Vancouver, BC on October 9th, 2021.


Rugby League

CNS began its rugby league section to supplement its rugby union development in running with the ball, evasion, passing, and defense. The league season does not overlap the rugby union season and players from all union clubs are welcome to join CNS for its rugby league program. The goal of the program is to develop players and provide high-level playing opportunities in a positive and enjoyable club climate.


All levels of players are welcome to join the rugby league section. Field training is twice per week led by a Rugby League Level 3 coach. To learn more complete the player interest form by clicking here and a club representative will get back to you as soon as possible.
